A needs-based award for Tooele and Salt Lake County residents.

The Nelnet Learn to Dream Scholarship is available to both recent high school graduates and adult learners. Unlike many other awards, this scholarship can be applied to nearly any program at Tooele Technical College.

How It Works

• FAFSA Requirement: You must complete the FAFSA and meet its eligibility criteria to qualify, even if your specific program is not FAFSA-eligible.

• Residency: Applicants must reside in Tooele County or Salt Lake County.

• Flexibility: This award covers a broad range of costs including kits and internal testing, up to a set limit.

Approved Programs

• All Programs are eligible EXCEPT:

  • Electrical Apprenticeship

  • Composites

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Learn to Dream Scholarship, students must:

1. Complete the scholarship application.

2. Apply for and be eligible for FAFSA at studentaid.gov, listing Tooele Technical College.

3. Meet all college admission requirements.

4. Enroll as a Certificate Seeking Student in an eligible program.

5. Maintain enrollment of at least 12 hours per week.

6. Maintain a minimum of 67% Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

7. Be a High School Graduate or GED completer at the time of application.

8. Reside in Salt Lake or Tooele County.

9. Write a Thank-You Letter: If awarded, you must provide a letter to Nelnet Bank explaining how the scholarship has benefited you.
