Why This Scholarship Matters

Including these statistics on your page can help potential applicants understand the importance of their role in the industry:

  • Diesel Technology: As of 2024, only 4% of diesel technician positions in the U.S. are filled by women.7

  • Welding: Women currently represent only about 5.3% to 6% of the welding and fabrication workforce.8

  • Automation: Tech and automation firms with higher diversity are 35% more likely to have above-average performance, yet minority representation in these leadership and technical roles remains a high priority for growth in 2025.9
