Students are required to complete the Practical Nursing Program admission requirements as listed below:
Prerequisite Coursework
Complete the following prerequisite courses (or an equivalent course) with a “C” grade or higher from a regionally accredited educational institution. Transcripts are required for verification.
Note: Students should seek advisement before starting the required prerequisite courses.
Human Anatomy
Human Physiology (Must have been completed within the last 5 years)
Human Growth and Development Across the Lifespan (or Psychology 1010/1100)

The most recent prerequisite course grades will be used.
Pass/Fail and Credit/No Credit scores are not accepted.
AP credit is granted if the score is 4 or 5 and the course was taken within the last five years.
Professional Certifications
Students must have a current, unencumbered CNA certification. Other healthcare experience may be considered in lieu of this prerequisite on a case-by-case basis (e.g., Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Pharmacy Technician, etc.).
The Application Process
Applications will go online in January and must be received or postmarked on or before the application deadline. As part of the application, students must include:
Criminal background check
Healthcare Provider CPR Certification (BLS): Documentation from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
10-panel drug screen results
Three (3) professional references
Immunization Records: Evidence of fulfillment of immunizations or documented results of immunization titers.
Final Selection
Once the application has been reviewed and it has been determined that the student meets the minimum requirements, the student may be brought in for an interview with the faculty and staff.
After the interview, the student will be notified of the acceptance decision within 5 to 10 business days.
