The Pharmacy Technician program trains students to help pharmacists in places like hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies. You’ll learn about medications, how to fill prescriptions, work with insurance, and safely prepare different types of medicines. With lots of hands-on practice using real pharmacy tools, you’ll be ready for a fast-paced and rewarding healthcare career.

The Pharmacy Technician program gave me real-world experience behind the counter. I felt prepared for my first day on the job.

Admission Requirements

This program is open to adults and qualified high school juniors and seniors. Students must be 16 years or older on or before the first day of class.

Adult students must provide their High School Transcripts, showing, at least, 8th grade math and a 11th grade reading with a C grade or better and be able to document an 18 or higher on their ACT scores for both reading and math; or take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) scoring at a 8th grade level for math and a 11th grade for reading.

A Drug Screen is required and students must provide a record of immunizations.

Current immunization record must include MMR or Titer; Current (within 12 months) TB test and/or X-ray; varicella, TDaP, Hep B series started, current year flu, and up-to-date Covid-19.

Students must be available for clinical hours which are conducted near the end of the program; the days of the week vary and may be morning or evening hours.

NOTE: Any misdemeanor or felony conviction on record may negatively impact the chances of completing the program, being placed at an externship site, and obtaining employment in a healthcare setting.
