The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program trains you to help people in emergencies before they get to the hospital. You'll learn how to care for the sick and injured, ride in an ambulance, and use life-saving tools. Every day is different, exciting, and full of teamwork. EMTs are the first to help when something goes wrong and you can be that person who makes a difference!

Admission Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.

Students must provide their High School Transcripts, showing at least an 8th-grade math and an 11th-grade reading with a C grade or better and be able to document an 18 or higher on their ACT scores for both reading and math; or take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) scoring at a 4 for the math portion and a 5 for the reading portion.

Healthcare Provider CPR (or equivalent Healthcare Provider BLS certification) will be completed during the first four hours of the program.

AHA BLS is offered at Tooele Tech, or the student may use an outside source. For outside CPR certifications, please see the approved list of equivalent providers.
