The purpose of this policy is to define and outline the respective rights that all students of the Tooele Technical College have in receiving a refund of tuition and differential tuition.

To request a refund, contact Student Services. A student does not need to request a refund, the refund will automatically be processed according to this policy. The refund will be issued in the form in which payment was made. If a student paid with cash, a check will be issued. If a student paid with a credit card the refund will be put back on the same card.

Refunds will be processed by the college within 45 days of the last day of attendance if written notification has been provided to the college by the student, or from the date the college determines the student withdrew.

Tooele Technical College will not retain more than $100 for a student who does not commence classes.

Course Based Programs: Students are eligible for a one hundred percent (100%) refund of tuition within the first course of their enrolled program: if they withdraw after receiving instruction and before completing any modules or are determined to withdraw by the institution within five (5) calendar days following the course start date. No refunds will be granted thereafter, with expectations to be granted on a case-by-case basis by college officials.

Percent Refund - Date

100% - Tuition only, within 5 calendar days of starting the first course in a Program, without completing any modules.

0% - Subsequent courses in the same program.

Short-term training not for Credit Courses: One hundred percent of the tuition and differential tuition that are collected in advance of the start date of a class or program will be refunded if the student fails to attend the course. Costs for testing and supplies/books are NOT refundable.

Refunds for Classes or Programs Canceled by the Institution: One hundred percent of the tuition and differential tuition that are collected in advance of the start date of a class or program will be refunded if the class or program is canceled by the institution. Costs for testing and supplies/books are NOT refundable.
