Employment At-Will

1. Purpose

1.1. The purpose of the policy is to define the employment relationship between the College and its employees.


2. Definitions

2.1. At-will: The College may terminate an employee at any time with or without cause.


3. Policy

3.1. It is the policy of the College that all employees are at-will unless otherwise specified in statute.


4. Attempts to Improve Employee Performance and Unacceptable Conduct

4.1. Supervisors may choose to use various management tools at their discretion to improve employee

performance or unacceptable conduct. These management tools may include, but are not limited to:

4.1.1. Coaching;

4.1.2. Performance improvement plans (PIPs);

4.1.3. Letters of warning;

4.1.4. and other efforts of improving employee performance or unacceptable conduct when in the

supervisor’s judgment such tools are warranted.

4.2. Any attempt by the supervisor to use these or other management tools to improve employee

performance or unacceptable conduct, does NOT remove the At-will status of Tooele Tech Employees.
