Facilities Use Policy

1. Purpose

  • 1.1. This Facilities Use Policy applies to all College Facilities. This policy governs the acceptable use of these facilities by students, faculty, staff, and the public to ensure that the College’s resources are used in a manner consistent with its mission, values, and operational needs.

4. Policy

  • 4.1. General Commitment: Tooele Technical College is committed to providing a safe, functional, and conducive environment for education and training purposes. This policy places a strong emphasis on ensuring the health, welfare, safety, and security of all users. All activities conducted within college facilities must align with the intended purpose of each space and uphold the highest standards of safety and well-being.

4.2. Policy Guidelines

  • 4.2.1. All facilities must be used in a manner that supports the College’s mission and respects the primary purpose for which the facility was established.

  • 4.2.2. Users must comply with all applicable building codes, laws, regulations, and College policies.

  • 4.2.3. Hours of Operation: The College’s hours of operation are from 8:00 am to 8 pm, Monday through Friday. Closed Saturday and Sunday.

    • a. Facilities must approve any events outside of normal operation hours.

    • b. For external entities, training scheduled outside of normal hours will incur a fee.

4.3. Restricted Uses

The following activities are restricted within College facilities:

  • 4.3.1. Selling or promoting commercial goods or services.

  • 4.3.2. Blocking roadways, driveways, corridors, and emergency exits.

  • 4.3.3. Any attachment device or process that will damage the building (e.g., drilling holes, tape that might remove paint or is difficult to remove, permanent glue, or other such device). For any questions, contact Facilities for an acceptable solution.

  • 4.3.4. Using fire or combustibles indoors.

  • 4.3.5. Use of extension cords as a substitute for permanent wiring. (Surge protectors are allowed.)

  • 4.3.6. Use of unapproved space heaters.

  • 4.3.7. Occupying without authorization any portion of a building when it is normally closed or unavailable for public access.

  • 4.3.8. Actively using skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, and bicycles inside buildings and on all indoor and outdoor stairways.
